It was late 2017 when this sensational project hatched in the joint minds of Matthieu and Red House. Matthieu's wish was to see an old barn metamorphosed into a laboratory for musical creation and production. Composed in length, this barn saw its walls progressively inhabited by a Control Room, a Live Room and a recording booth, to give Labo -M- the ability to resonate and arrange musical remedies, where the alchemy between musicians can find its full expression.
Composed of a NEVE 51 console, Amadeus Monitor 155 Custom loudspeakers or Ampex ATR 102 and Studer A80 magnetos, the control room is equipped with a very high quality equipment.
With this M as an emblem, inscribed as a logo on the wall separating the Control Room from the Live Room, the letter has also been hidden in several places and in several forms...
The most curious will be able to exercise their keen eye and, as in a treasure hunt, to look, to search for all of them!
One of the innumerable peculiarities of the place is to be found in the recording booth, where wooden slats can freely rotate thanks to a gear mechanism. This invention made in Red House allows to modify the reverberation (RT60) of the room, modulating the circulation of the sound which, according to the position of the slats, arrives differently to the ears of the listener.
The icing on the cake: a glass door that opens the cabin and creates a continuity with the Live Room, through the careful tilting of a wooden and cast iron counterweight planet that acts as a lever.
