TRANSFORMING A ROOM INTO A STUDIO WITH A UNIQUE PERSONALITY: THE FABULOUS ROOM
Owner: Flux Studios
Contractor: Red House Acoustics
Location: New York City
That was at the end of 2024.
After an inspiring immersion in New York, Lucas Medus & Balthazar Loret returned with a bold vision: to transform this room into a studio with a unique personality. Sculptural tongues in the ceiling, integrated niche for the rack and synths... the Red House team rethought every detail to combine acoustics, functionality and visual identity.
In collaboration with Chris Murray (CM-Woodcraft), the room is entirely rebuilt around our signature high-definition multi-layer internal treatment system - adapted to American materials - while an ingenious high plinth allows all the wiring to be concealed without touching the New York floor.
Vicoustic Waves, imported from Portugal, become the centerpiece of the ceiling, dressed in Guilford of Maine acoustic fabric and customizable LED lighting. Even the iconic 140 kg door found its place, giving the studio its unique character. Proof that it's entirely possible to combine a Red House acoustic study with commercial treatment elements.
A glimpse of the room before transformation...
The result: a space where sound engineers and customers hear exactly the same thing, a high-end mixing environment that also inspires session artists.
Today, the Fabulous Room is honored with a nomination for the NAMM TEC Awards 2026 - Studio Design Project of the Year.
A project carried out with passion, precision and collaboration!
