"When we decided to buy this thatched cottage in the Yvelines, Caroline and I envisioned it as a place for family gatherings, a haven of peace and relaxation during our weekends 45 minutes from the madness of Paris!
The project was immediately entrusted to interior designer Santillane de Chanaleilles and her collaborator Noémie Castera, whose team was given carte blanche to completely refurbish the space.
Very early on, we decided to create a showcase for image and sound in this house, a projection room for all of us, and a mini-studio for our son, a composer and musician.
After talking it over with Matthieu Chedid, who had composed several film scores for our production company Tresor Films, we approached RedHouse to entrust them with this double mission, starting from a space where there was nothing, just the walls...
The collaboration was frankly fantastic, as RedHouse took charge of the entire creation of these two spaces, which they wanted to be communicative and interactive. This ranged from the layout of the space, discussions on the plans, to the construction, soundproofing, insulation, ventilation, choice of materials, sound and image technology, decoration, right down to the seven seats in the projection room!
The collaboration with RedHouse went very smoothly during this project, even though it was a complicated one, since, at the same time, huge works were being carried out throughout the house, and coordination between the RedHouse craftsmen, Santillane, Noémie and the site managers was essential.
We are now happy users of our projection room, unique in its comfort and charm, and our son spends a lot of time in his studio.
To tell you the truth, it's downright heavenly to have these two spaces in our home! Can't wait to collaborate with RedHouse again on a crazy new project!!! "
